Subject: When Things don't go as you planned. Dealing with Fear posted by Suneido on Wednesday, May 28th 2008 @ 12:46 AM
So very often we walk into a ministry appointment with a plan. We think God is going to do things in a way that we have fabricated in our own minds. But the word says that His ways are not our ways. I find that often we are our own enemy and Satan doesn't have to do much to convince us of how "it is supposed to go" in our appointment. When God doesn't show up to our play and be the actor in our production we may feel betrayed. We may feel that He doesn't love us or that healing is not coming. This can happen no matter what side of the fence you are sitting on..meaning you are the prayer minister or you are recieving prayer ministry. I am not saying that we can not expect God to show up. We definately can and should expect that. But what I am saying is that we sometimes limit what God is wanting to do by expecting Him to fit into our plan instead of seeking him and listening to His plan.
God loves showing up for us. He loves healing people. I am always so thrilled when he comes in such unusual ways and meets the needs. He knows us better than we know ourselves and so He knows what will bring that healing.
When I first experienced prayer ministery. I would plan out everything that I wanted to happen. I planned what I would say and what The prayer ministers would say back and what would happen from start to finish. There was such a lack of trust and so much fear about the safety of the environment and I just felt I needed to know everything so that things would work out perfectly.
Well, I recently had a ministry appointment and I went in totally unprepared. I hadn't planned a thing. It is amazing that God can actually handle an appointment without my plans. Can you believe it? He actually came and did some wonderful things! And you know, He even got the "perfectly" stamp of approval!?!
God continues to bring healing into my life.
So when you are giving or getting prayer ministry, try, try, try to believe that God really does know you best and if you leave it in His hands, He will do waht He wants to do, which is always more than we can ever ask or think of on our own.
Blessings!
