Subject: What are you focused on?
Dealing with Fear

Do you feel like you are mostly positive or mostly negative?

Why?

Where do your trains of thought take you and is that a destination you want to go to?

Colossians 3:1-2
Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.

What are you setting your heart on? What are you setting your mind on?

Take some time to meditate on this verse. Ask yourself: What am I focused on?

Do I believe that I have been raised with Christ? What do "things above" look like?

Would you let your heart and mind focus on things that are compassionate, kind, humble, gentle, patience and forgiving (see Colossians 3:12-13).

Compare that list with the "earthly things" like: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires, greed, rage, malice, slander, filthy language and lying (Colossians 3:5-9).

Let me challenge you to change your thinking, to change what you are focused on.

When the anger, greed and lying start to bubble up in our mind, CHOOSE to think peaceful, grateful and truthful thoughts.
